Our Story
The oldest name in London chimney sweeping
Naish & Sons was established in 1870, when the chimneys of London were still swept from a horse-drawn cart. More than 150 years later we are the oldest established family-run chimney sweeps in London, and the name over the door has never changed.
The trade has been passed from father to son through five generations of the Naish family. The brushes, the methods and the vans have moved with the times, but the way we work has not: turn up when we say we will, leave the room cleaner than we found it, and treat every customer as part of the family rather than a number in a diary.
Today the business is run by Alan Naish and his son Dean from Coulsdon. The photograph we carry on the back of our van shows Alan's own father with his son, brushes in hand. Father and son then, father and son now, carrying the same name, the same standards and the same pride in the craft. It is not just a job to us. It is the family story.
